DESCRIPTION:The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War\, Department of Nebraska\, Thayer Camp will conduct a ceremony honoring Willard A. Morgan\, the Last Union Civil War Soldier buried in Thayer County\, Nebraska. The ceremony will be held at Belvidere Rural Cemetery near Belvidere\, NE. \nWillard A. Morgan was a Private in Co. C\, 12th Michigan Infantry and died December 16\, 1942 at the age of 92. \nDirections: Belvidere Cemetery is located on 10th St in Belvidere\, NE . View Google coordinates. \nThe Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War\, Dept. of Nebraska have started the final phase in our Last Soldier Project. The purpose of the project is to locate and appropriately mark the final resting place of the last Union Civil War Soldier buried in each county in the state of Nebraska.
