DESCRIPTION:The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War\, Department of Nebraska\, Vifquain Camp No. 1 will conduct a ceremony honoring Charles H. Halsted\, the Last Union Civil War Soldier buried in Johnson County\, Nebraska. The ceremony will be held at Tecumseh Cemetery\, in Tecumseh. \nCharles H. Halsted was a Private in Co. A\, 52nd Illinois Infantry and died March 26\, 1941 at the age of 97. \nDirections:  View Google coordinates. \nThe Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War\, Dept. of Nebraska have started the final phase in our Last Soldier Project. The purpose of the project is to locate and appropriately mark the final resting place of the last Union Civil War Soldier buried in each county in the state of Nebraska.
