Diverse Origins

April 8, 2017 @ 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM

Diverse Origins sponsored by Cub Scouting at the Nebraska State Capitol

This event brings multiple groups together to present visitors about various aspects of Nebraska history including ancient biology, Native Americans (learning the story of Standing Bear), pioneers, the underground railroad, civil war veterans, immigrants, and art and architecture of the Capitol building.

The Nebraska150 website notes we will be keeping an Honor Guard at the Lincoln statue and teaching visitors how to drill and march like a Civil War soldier.

PDC Bill Dean will have his civil war display set up at the Capitol and is asking for those that can attend to be there in uniform by 1 pm.

Venture Scout 21 Group (Robert and Ian Cuevas are members) and former SUVCW member Ron Rockenbach are helping with the event.
