2026 Dept. of Nebraska Annual Encampment

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Department of Nebraska & the Dakotas will hold its 26th Annual Department Encampment at the Elmwood Cultural Arts & Learning Center in Elmwood, Nebraska. The encampment is hosted by Vifquain Camp #1 of Omaha. A memorial service will begin at 9:00 am with the business meeting beginning directly after. A virtual meeting session will be available for remote members.

The public is invited to our afternoon session starting at 1:30 p.m. There will be an awards presentation followed by speaker and fellow SUVCW Brother Mark Nichols presenting “The History of the Grand Army of the Republic in Nebraska.”

In addition, the Elmwood GAR Hall Military Museum (124 East D St.) will be open to view the displays from the Civil War through recent wars.
