Guide: The VetStatus column gives information regarding the status of the veteran. A ? indicates that his may or may not be a veteran, regimental, state or unit information is missing. ? NSM indicates (No Service Mentioned) in the veterans obituary. No indicates the persion is not likely a veteran, Yes indicates a veteran but needs confirmed through rosters. Confirmed indicates that veteran’s regiment has been confirmed through regiment roster records. Other indicators relate if the veteran served in prior or post wars (Mexican War, Black Hawk, Indian, Sp-American), or if records are duplicated or need removal. ZZ indicates not enough information found, needs more research.
