Nebraska was granted statehood on March 1, 1867. The state will commemorate it’s Sesquicentennial with a year-long celebration involving a wide variety of programs and projects across the state.
Below are a handful of the events and programs going on, check out the Nebraska 150 website for more.
Painting the Legacy of Nebraska
The Painting the Legacy of Nebraska exhibition and educational art project will be a monumental exhibition heralding the nostalgia and history of Nebraska. Internationally recognized and Nebraska native, artist Todd Williams’s mission is to depict significant historic, geographic, and figurative elements from each of the 93 counties. The exhibit will travel across the state throughout the year. Currently it’s at the Nebraska History Museum, Lincoln from March 1 – June 4.
